How Do I Map Ableton Device Paramters w/o Macro Knobs

Submitted by KaneVicious on Fri, 09/20/2019 - 03:18

I am wondering how to setup my controller to control more than eight parameters on an Ableton device.

For example:
I want to control the gain, frequency, Q, slope, and on/off for each of the eight bands. That's 40 paramters.

I watched the Device video, but it only shows Ableton devices being mapped from the macro knobs. That only gives me control of eight parameters, right? I need to control 40 parameters, lol.

Is it possible with just CSS; and if so, how?

How Do I Setup Pads to Act as a Navigation Grid

I'm loving CSS so far! I have a question about session navigation. I've got a launchpad and I want to setup a mode where every pad is a specific group of tracks.

For example:
Each column of pads represents a specific group of eight tracks. Say, I press a pad in column 1. It will move to the group of eight tracks associated with that column and the row will determine which scene the box starts at.

CSS Blocked by Firewall

I am trying to open CSS, but it keeps getting stuck checking for updates because of my firewall. I've tried TinyWall and Windows 10 Firewall Control. I have setup exemptions/permissions in both for the css .exe. I've even used the learn modes. I still cannot get past the update screen with the firewall on.

What needs to be allowed in a firewall to get this thing working?

Setting up reset parameter buttons via CSS Reactions

So I've been trying to set up a Basic CSS reaction that simply sets a parameter to a specific value when clicked.

Looking at the documentation it says that in order to select a specific value I need to just create a reaction that uses

<code>"tracks" [0].devices[1].parameters[1].value () Input 64</code>

I don't have any conditions for this, I just have a button set up as a listener. When I do this nothing in the DAW appears to happen. Even when I add a condition that just checks to see if the device is on:

Problem with CSS and Midi Fighter Twister

Submitted by Mathematics30 on Mon, 08/12/2019 - 14:40

I have try to configure the Midi Fighter Twister in CSS so i can have the four bank with the different led colors at disposition, and une the side buttons to switch between controls. To do so i have configured a controller with the 64 knobs and switch. But when if setting up some bank controls, only the 16 first encoders and switch from the bank A are working, and not the others.

I have checked with midi monitoring if all the midi assignements are corrects, and they are. I have try multiple configurations for the buttons type and nothing is working.

Cannot get all RGB lights to return back to MODE 1 on Midi Fighter 64

From a UI point of view, I rely on the RGB lights to signify new functionality when triggering from one mode to another. For example, I want the RGB lights on my DJTT Midi Fighter 64 to display certain RGB lights when in Mode 1, and then I want a different set of RGB lights to display when entering mode 2. Of course, the RGB lights that correspond with MODE 2 should turn off when I return back to Mode 1.

Mapping buttons on devices.

I'm trying to map the freeze button on the Reverb plugin and I have a few problems: short version:
I've attached a picture with the settings for the controller input.

1. When I press the controller input that I've mapped to the freeze button, nothing happens
2. When I press (with my mouse) the freeze button on Ableton, I'm getting led feedback on my midi controller.

What I am doing wrong?

Can't chain targeting

Hi there,
first time using CCS; but newbie problems...

I want to fast select a device inside a rack. But not sure if I'm configuring everything in the right way.

My goal:

- Have an audio effect rack inside a track with n repeated effects inside chained.
- Having the ability to select one of the n fx fast (with pressing the related pad to that device)
- Having the ability to manipulate the 10 parameters of that selected effect (with 10 knobs mapped to the selected device).

Is there anyway for the play button to blink according to the tempo?

Does anyone knows if this is possible and how to do it?

where is the "stop all clips" option?

I've just noticed that there is no more an "stop all clips option" witch sucks since the current "stop" option, stops all midi and that is not what do we want all of the time. sometime we just wanna stop the clips but the midi to keep going.

is there anyway to replicate this?
